Monitoring

Monitoring can be a useful way of obtaining feedback on the conditions within a space. This might be to help inform the design process or to analyse the efficacy of installed solutions. Monitoring can also be helpful when diagnosing potential problems, as sensors are usually more consistent and reliable than human experience.

The Building Physics department at Fulcrum have a variety of monitoring devices available for use:

We have a number of Tiny Talk temperature and humidity sensors. T iny Talks are small units - about the size and shape of a pot for a roll of film. These can either monitor temperature or humidity at different time intervals depending on what is required.

More information is available from the Gemini website: http://www.geminidataloggers.com

We also have small portable equpment for taking on-the-spot readings for many parameters such as surface temperature, humidity and air speed.

We can also offer monitoring via dial-up connection to installed BMS systems. This provides a more sophisticated way in which to monitor a building as it gives us acess to all the sensors and controls featured in the Building Management System.
